Welcome to my personal web-site

My area of interest is the crayfish. In my research I try to contribute, as much as I possibly can, to the in-depth knowledge of crayfish in Romania (and more). I am an advocate of precise specializations, while nevertheless a proponent of interdisciplinary research.

I am currently working as an Associate Professor at the Department of Biology-Chemistry, within the Faculty of Chemistry, Biology and Geography of the West University of Timisoara (Romania). I teach Invertebrate Zoology courses and seminars.

I obtained my B.Sc. degree, as well as my M.Sc. degree, at the faculty where I am currently teaching. In 2010 I obtained my Ph.D. degree at the Babeș-Bolyai University of Cluj-Napoca and the title of my thesis was: “The study of malacostracean communities (Crustacea: Malacostraca) in the Anina Mountains”, coordinated by Professor Doctor Nicolae Tomescu.

I was born in Resita (the capital town of the Caras-Severin county), but I spent most of my childhood at the countryside – in Vermeş.
